You’ll recognize this twist from the opening of all my classes. It’s fantastic to really warm the spine and begin your yoga.
To begin the twist, place your left hand on the outside of your right thigh and your right hand on the floor behind you With an inhalation, lengthen the spine from the tailbone to the top of the head, and then on your exhalation, begin to twist to the right. For most of us, our attention goes to the front, right side of the body as we begin to twist.
Work with the breath and with each side you can deepen the position whilst always working towards a straight, but natural, spine.
A great one to do a few times in the morning before starting your day.
